Germany joined the IOM in 1954.

Our Work
Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. In Germany, IOM implements projects mainly in the areas of migrant protection and assistance, as well as advocating for migrants’ rights and serving as a liaison office for German funded IOM activities worldwide.

KOK - Bundesweiter Koordinierungskreis gegen Menschenhandel e.V. and The International Organisation for Migration (IOM)
The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) invites volunteers from all over Germany to participate in a free digital seminar on "Protecting Refugees from Ukraine from Exploitation: What can volunteers do?" on 14 July 2022 from 18:00-20:00.
The webinar will be held in cooperation with the Bundesweiter Koordinierungskreis gegen Menschenhandel e.V. (KOK).
The free web seminar focuses on how volunteers can recognise suspected cases of exploitation and how they can better protect affected persons in fragile structures (for example in private accommodation).
