The German government and the federal states support IOM both financially and as strategic partners. Germany is one of IOM's largest donors, enabling the implementation of operational aid programmes for migrants worldwide. The Liaison Office in Berlin serves as a connection point between the German donor institutions and the IOM country offices that implement projects with German funding around the world, as well as the IOM regional offices and headquarters in Geneva. In addition, IOM Germany works closely with non-governmental organizations, associations and other representatives of civil society.
