Nearly 48% of migrants worldwide are women, yet their perspectives are barely visible in the public discourse around migration. Why is that? Why is a gender perspective important? How can we contribute towards gender equality in migration?
As part of the United Nations (UN) 16 days of activism against gender-based violence “Orange the World”, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Germany would like to put a spotlight on the importance of gender in migration.
How does an individual's gender identity influence their migration journey? What are the various needs of migrants of all genders? How does IOM react to meet them? How can gender-sensitive data collection contribute to equality?
IOM Germany invites you to join us in search of answers. The presentations will be held in English.
